My trailer has finally arrived to Norway!

O M G !

This is really the first real step towards the tiny house

Finally something solid!

One thing that’s truely special about this trailer (apart from it being the foundation of my rolling future – pun intended) is that I ordered it on May 27th this year (2022), right on my birthday, which was the day the money for the house house sale in Kristiansand (the city where I lived before I came to Oslo in May 2020) came into my account. My rat-infested house in Kristiansand was sold on Friday May 13th, and so a few weeks later, on my birthday-Friday, the money came in and the trailer was ordered! I think it’s a pretty cool thing. It’s fun with such synchronicities every now and then ❀️

The next step is to have it reviewed, approved and registered to me at The Norwegian Public Roads Administration in December. Then the trip will finally go to Vestfold Minihus, which is an absolutely fabulous company with super cool guys who will build this majestic house. They have received all my drawings (and money 😭 kidding πŸ˜‚ I have 10 bucks left and can afford noodles until Christmas) and I put all my trust in them (while I sit back in the armchair I don’t have because I had to sell it to afford this house).

I will follow the building prosess tightly and keep you regularly updated. The house is supposed to be done in Mach, so things are getting closer and wilder!

Look at it! Sooo loooong and nice! 😍 The trailer driver sent me these two pictures, so I haven’t had the pleasure of seeing it in real life yet.

The trailer is 10 meters (32.8 feet) long and of the tractor trailer type and it can withstand up to 12 tonnes of house. It can be transported either by being pulled by a truck or tractor, but for the longer stretches I will have the house transported on a flatbed (a well trailer) and use a tractor for the last few meters/feet onto the lawn. Haven’t yet settled on where I want to place it and am keeping all options open, but most likely I’ll end up in the areas around Vestby, Ski, Tomter, Vinterbro, ØstensjΓΈ, Γ…s, OppegΓ₯rd, etc. That side of the Oslofjord, I think.

Lastly I would like to say a huge thank you for all the support, kind words and well wishings ❀️ And thank you for taking the time to read the blog and leave a comment. I am truly moved and humbled ❀️ Thank you so much!

How was it for you when you saw your trailer or the first build for the first time? I can imagine that I will feel star struck! 😍

Would love to hear from you!

Thank you so much for reading ❀️

🌈Irene
