Biggest THOW – Building part 1: Video!

We have now really got started and the workers over at Vestfold Minihus are er quicker than a fox! The house is done right before May 1.!

My trailer was rolled into the workshop on December 16 and then there has been a little bit vacation going on and waiting for materials, but NOW we’re ON and here is a summary of the build so far!

⭐Video at the bottom⭐

I have to take a deep breath first.. Cause the feeling I have inside me now is FANTASTIC and I wish I could squeeze dome drops of it into a jar for rainy days 🥂

Now the adventure has started for REAL 😍✨❤️

To summarize real quick, I ordered my trailer on my birthday, May 27. 2022 and it arrived to Norway a couple of months later. We timed the arrival so that Vestfold Minihus had time to jump right into building.

Now it’s time for…

The building process

Part ONE!

The trailer was rolled into the shop but was suuuper dirty, but hey, when you got a good friend like Ann Christin, there’s no problemo! She has the same type of trailer and cleaned them both up! THANK YOU ❤️✨

I have to tell you short about her, and if you haven’t heard about synchronicity before, you will now.

We didn’t know each other, but somehow we have chosen the same kind of trailer, ordered them, gotten them shipped to Norway, showed up at the registration, sent them to Vestfold Minihus AND are ending up on the same farm! EVERYTHING AT THE SAME TIME!! That’s insane!

Just wow.

After they brought my trailer inside, they made some wood framing for the insulation, and put some plates on it. Then they rolled it all out because my house will be slightly taller than their workshop.

And now for a big announcement!

(not preggo)

I have been so incredibly lucky to have been sponsored by IKEA with the most beautiful kitchen ❤️ I am so grateful – and what an amazing team I have had the honor to work with! Thank you so very much! ❤️✨

A little bit about my kitchen:

It’s shaped like a “G” and is placed in the far end of the house where two big windows are looking foreward to let in the sunlight. The fronts UPPLÖV in combination with the counter top SÄLJAN gives it a modern and sophisticated look that welcomes you in. Making lovely meals here and having those good conversations sitting on JANINGE bar stool around the big island will be a blast! The side-by-side, french doored VINTERKALL fridge will keep everything you will need for the finest of recipes, and the freezer drawers will store your food well organized. The oven FINSMAKARE is top notch and ready for everything you throw at it acompanied by the induction burner SMAKLIG. This has a bridge function making room for bigger pots and pans – fantastic! And should anything get too hot and crispy, the exhaust hood FINSMAKARE will save the day (and air!)

The dishwasher FINPUTSAD with it’s neat 45cm (17in) and cutlery drawer is a good choice for a small family or if you have a smaller kitchen.

My kitchen is of a larger kind, so I chose the big, beautiful KILSVIKEN basin (80cm / 31in) with the TOLLSJÖN kitchen faucet that can be moved freely and has a shower function. I will have lights in my drawers and an eletrical door opener for the trash cans.

The corners of my kitchen will be used for my hot water tank and water filter for water coming into the house.

HI hope you guys will like the video! This is the second time I edit video and I am having tooo much fun with it! Would have loved a comment on YouTube (and here, of course)❤️

  1. This sounds sooooo interesting!! I don’t know if you know about this, but there is a European founded project called Build in Wood. Trondheim from Norway is also involved. Right now they are trying to build a European community on sustainable housing all cities involved in the project, and they are looking for examples of good practices to share with the world on their website. Maybe you can look for it and rich their project for some better visibility for your project. I previously worked with an urban consultancy firm that was part of this project, so if you cannot find it on Google I can help you with the links.
